Arlissa primarily uses two mediums to create her colorful works - acrylic paint and digital collage. However, she also enjoys experimenting with new mediums and mixed media.
Acrylic & Mixed Media Techniques: Acrylic paint is a very versatile medium. It can act like oil or
watercolor, can be used on canvas, wood, paper, glass, or plastic, and
can yield impressive and surprising results! Often Arlissa uses a special texturing technique involving watery paint dried slowly under a layer of plastic. She also likes to
blend acrylic with other materials by incorporating text and photo
transfers. When blended with other materials it can be referred to as a
mixed media painting. There are also other types of mixed media
paintings which do not include acrylic paint. For example, Arlissa also
creates mixed media art using encaustics, oil pastels, and paper or
fabric elements.
Digital Collage Techniques: Many people ask, "What is a digital collage?"
| This
is
a new media art form involving the blending and manipulation of
photography,
computer drawings, and digital imagery. Digital collages are made on
the computer using only original imagery created by the artist, and
then printed using high-quality
pigment inks and archival paper. All of the original digital collages are
printed in extremely limited editions and signed by the artist, so you can be sure you are
purchasing something valuable by investing in a digital collage
artwork. Please email for more specifics on print runs and prices. |
